Hessler’s Screen Printing and More

By MarionMade! on February 13, 2017

SMALL BUSINESS THRIVES LOCALLY AND ON THE ROAD.
.
“It’s hard to believe that in seven short years we have come from running the business out of our basement, to our very own building with 6 employees. I guess we are kind of a small business success story,” said Kim Hessler.
.
In 2008, Kim was laid off from her job as a loan processor. She then went to work for a screen printing company. Although things didn’t work out there, she was left with a love for creating designs and screen printing. With the encouragement of her husband, James, the two launched a new business. Kim would do screen printing in the garage, while James would continue working at the prison and help her at home in the evenings. A year later, the basement was packed with heat presses, office, and embroidery machines. Thanks to friends and family, orders started rolling in, and fast. Within a year, James left his job to run the business alongside Kim full time.
.
Shortly after, the Hessler’s moved into their first location on Mt. Vernon Ave. They stayed there for three years until they felt the business was outgrowing the location. In November 2015, Kim and James moved to their current East Church Street location in Downtown Marion.
.
Fast forward to today; Hessler’s Screen Printing and More supplies schools, businesses, and events with custom screen printed and embroidered apparel. They also design and print banners, vinyl decals, custom phone cases, stadium chairs, custom shirts, and more. Not only does the business set itself apart with a grand showroom with tons to purchase, but it also goes on the road! Hessler’s has a trailer to haul and sell merchandise at different trade shows and events. Anytime you see Hessler’s setting up at an event, they donate money back to that program. They helped pay for two scoreboards for high school teams, donated supplies to the Boys and Girls Club of Marion County, and have sponsored several Marion events.
