Kori’s Story
Kori Deemer, our first MarionMade! intern, graduated from Ohio State Marion was hired by United Way in Marion, Wyandot and Crawford counties. She was a great asset to our office. Not only did Kori intern with us, but her fiancée, Bret Nehrenz, volunteered with us as the mascot at several venues. The following article is Kori’s description of herself and a short review of her time at MarionMade! We have internships available throughout the year. Contact the office if you want to know more.
“My name is Kori Deemer, and I’m a spring 2018 graduate of The Ohio State University. I’ve finally reached the end of my academic career, and I never imaged my final semester would be this bittersweet. I had the pleasure of interning at MarionMade! for my final semester of college, and the experience was not what I was expecting. I originally wanted to be the volunteer photographer, but they needed an intern and I needed an internship.
I cannot say enough good things about my time spent at MarionMade! For starters, the people are great! Every day, I was greeted with enthusiasm, and whenever I had a problem I had a team of people always willing to help me find a solution. Also, I was given the opportunity to meet several members of the community and learn about a variety of businesses that I had just been passing by for years.
MarionMade! truly gave me a better look at all of the possibilities that Marion has for me. I was pushed to be a better writer, speaker, community member, worker, and overall individual. I am excited to take all of the knowledge I’ve gained and apply it to my future endeavors, but I am so sad to be leaving such a great group of people!”
